LMM addresses the drawbacks of the Internet of Things (IoT) such as its security risks, protecting personal information, and its operating costs.
The core flaw of IoT security is the lack of a mutual trust mechanism between devices. IoT requires all devices to be authenticated and interacting through a centralized database/node. Collapse of this centralized node would disrupt the entire system. The LMM distributed network structure provides a mechanism to maintain consensus between devices without central authentication; this makes the overall network more reliable and secure in failure scenarios. This distributed approach creates a web of devices, where data is transmitted peer-to-peer amongst each other, allowing for millions of concurrent transaction. The utilization of computing power, storage capacity and bandwidth of devices on the network helps reduce the cost of resources compared to maintaining and operating a centralized node.
In addition, the LMM infrastructure will implement smart contracts which will transform devices into self-maintaining, independent network nodes. They will be able to perform functions such as exchanging data and verifying with other nodes based on pre-defined or embedded rules; this method eliminates the equipment life cycle, allowing IoT products to never be outdated.
Description of Token (Utility/Use Cases):
In our initial stage, IoT devices will access the LMM network via various types of developer interfaces. In later stages, we will have IoT devices embedded with a lightweight Linux system. These devices operate as a network node, capable of securely communicating with other nodes. LMM tokens are utilized when streaming data through the LMM network.
